Rubrik addresses a hard limit of prevention: a company still needs to recover when an attacker gets through or its own software makes a destructive change. Its latest financial release describes a platform spanning data, identity and AI operations. Those are different tasks. Restoring a clean database does not by itself remove a stolen identity, and restoring an identity does not govern the next action an agent takes. The company’s expansion makes sense only if customers can use those pieces together.
The existing business provides a base for that effort. In the quarter ended July 31, 2026, revenue grew 38% to $427.3 million, while subscription annual recurring revenue, or ARR, grew 33% to $1.66 billion. Cloud ARR rose 39% to $1.48 billion. But some cloud growth comes from moving existing customers into hosted products. Rubrik’s adjusted measure, which strips migrations from new cloud ARR, grew 20%. It is a better check on fresh demand than treating every migration as a newly won workload.
Revenue also needs an accounting check. The same release identifies $4.7 million of material-rights revenue in the quarter, against $14.2 million a year earlier. Normalizing for that effect yields 43% growth. Neither figure should replace the other without explanation: reported growth describes the accounts; the normalized measure helps explain the underlying comparison. The product case should survive both views.
The IPO record made Rubrik’s shift from data management to security visible through its finances. Its April 2024 IPO filing coverage paired roughly $628 million of annual revenue with a $354 million loss. The first post-IPO earnings report then showed subscription ARR of $856.1 million, up 46%. Revenue and recurring contracts told different parts of the transition. The question was whether a growing subscription base could support a business still spending heavily to build and sell its platform.
The next change involved AI capability rather than a new description of backup. Rubrik agreed to acquire Predibase in June 2025. That deal brought tools for deploying AI models. It did not, on its own, prove demand for a new Rubrik product. The clearer milestone came on February 18, 2026, when Agent Cloud became generally available. The offering combines agent inventory, rules for prompts and tool calls, and recovery from unwanted actions.
Agent Rewind ties that new product to Rubrik’s prior work. The GA product note describes matching an agent’s destructive action to an earlier healthy copy of the affected data. This is a narrower and more useful claim than a promise to make all agents safe. It depends on knowing what changed, keeping recoverable data and restoring the right state. A security rule may stop an action before it happens; a recovery tool needs evidence after it happens.
On August 4, Rubrik added Agent Identity. The new controls scope access to individual tool calls, use short-lived credentials, and connect with Okta and Microsoft Entra ID. This extends recovery toward permission checks at the moment of action. The July-quarter release also identifies new identity capabilities following the Strata acquisition: restoring identity services while preserving legitimate changes, and switching to another identity provider when the main one fails.
That is a real change in product scope. It is not yet a separately measured AI revenue business. The financial release discloses aggregate subscription growth and product launches, without a material Agent Cloud revenue line. The sound reading is that Rubrik has shipped tools and has an existing customer base to sell them to. The contribution of those new tools to overall growth remains a question for later reports.
The spectrogram

In 2024Q1 the record was 100% financial; by 2025Q2 it is 100% acquisition. A price chart shows what a name did; the spectrogram shows what its story is made of.

The October 22, 2026 TEXXR pull returned 30 Rubrik edges across 22 distinct first-seen dates. The same-day CoreWeave pull returned 291 total edges, including one undated, across 103 distinct first-seen dates. These are graph relationships, not unique articles. Rubrik’s record has enough dates to show a sequence, but much of its financial detail clusters around the IPO. The April 2–3, 2024 records include listing plans, revenue, recurring contracts and shareholders. Several rows can describe one filing, and the two Bloomberg corpus entries point to the same original report.
Later edges mark a shift toward capability and expansion. The June 2025 Predibase edge connects Rubrik to AI-model deployment. Two July 9, 2026 edges record a planned UK investment and London headquarters, drawn from one Reuters report. They are two relationships from one announcement, not two independent signs of growth. A recent personnel reference to Rubrik in another startup’s story adds still less evidence about Rubrik’s current products. Reading the rows limits what the count can claim.
Rubrik fits the cyber resilience theme through recovery and continuity. Its connection to Zscaler is partly complementary: one can limit access to an application while the other preserves a path back to a clean state. Agent Identity also moves Rubrik nearer to access control. The relevant boundary is whether a tool prevents misuse, detects it or repairs the result. Product names alone do not tell a reader which job customers have paid to solve.

The record
The next results should preserve the distinction between new demand and migrations. Rubrik’s fiscal 2027 outlook calls for $1.685 billion to $1.693 billion of revenue and $1.880 billion to $1.885 billion of subscription ARR. Adjusted new cloud ARR, customer expansion and the contribution from new identity products will help explain progress against that outlook. Product launches become stronger evidence when customers expand paid use after deployment.
Customer depth already supplies a useful test. At July 31, Rubrik had 3,084 customers generating at least $100,000 in subscription ARR, up 23% from a year earlier. Its investor record reports average subscription net retention above 119%. That measure includes expansion and contraction among existing customers, averaged across four quarters. It supports the case for broader use, but it does not isolate Agent Cloud or identity security. Separate paid-product measures would make the new scope easier to assess.
Cash generation and share growth need to move together. Second-quarter free cash flow reached $65.7 million, while stock compensation was $101.0 million. Basic weighted shares rose about 5.8% from the prior year. The July 10-Q also reports convertible debt alongside cash and investments. Watch whether rising subscriptions fund product development with less dilution, and whether the forecast $323 million to $333 million of annual free cash flow arrives with that improvement.
